Hello everyone,
A few weeks ago, I posted something and received a response from a lovely person. I’m French, and I apologize for my bad English, but I wanted to write on an English forum to practice my English, even though, yes, Google Translate will help me a lot with this process. Haha, so sorry for the mistakes!
I’d like to share a project with you. I’m applying to an art school, and they’ve asked us to create a video answering the question “Who are you?” in a way that’s ultra-creative, unique, and relevant.
Since I don’t feel comfortable showing myself “on raw camera,” and I’ve been interested in stop motion for years (even though I’m still a beginner), I chose stop motion for its creativity and the way it allows you to present yourself in a different way.
Here’s the brief:
A character representing me will move through three distinct worlds that reflect who I am:
My goal is to connect with people more experienced than me in stop motion to get advice on filming, voice dubbing, and all aspects of the video.
In short, I’m looking for guidance on how to create my video, which might open the doors to a dream I’ve had for a long time.
I have lots of questions, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to help—I would really appreciate it. I already have a few ideas, like using second-hand materials, including my camera, which is an HD webcam that I’ll set up for filming.
I’m also planning to use light-colored modeling clay to make my character blink, but I’d love to learn more about the proper frame rate, the basic principles of stop motion, and the best software combinations for capturing and editing, among other things.
